Janek is the captain aboard USCSS Prometheus played by Idris Elba in the film Prometheus.

Janek is on the Bridge monitoring the crew, staying there late into the night as Millburn and Fifield are stuck in the Alien Temple. He later spends an evening with Vickers as Millburn and Fifield fend for themselves.

Janek goes along with the crew’s second journey into the Temple, after only finding Millburn’s dead body Holloway falls ill and they return quickly back aboard.

Later, when Shaw returns from their last journey into the Alien Temple, Janek, Chance and Ravel launch towards the Derelict. Giving only a few seconds for anyone who wanted to leave, they and the other crew left aboard die as they collide with the Derelict.
